I’ve never claimed to be awesome at drawing, it’s just something I like to do… but I do think I’ve gotten a bit better since my first comic in 3rd grade. This was my first attempt at using a new technique and a new program to draw (Instead of using photoshop like I usually do, this was made in Corel Sketchpad – an interesting application, but one that focuses WAY more on emulating physical media and paper textures).
So here it is at long last – Superhouse 4! I think that I’m finally back to where I can do this on some sort of regular basis – hence the update. I was super busy for a while with work, then moving, then et cetera, but now I’ve moved into a new place, settled in, got a steady job and started cranking out images again WHOO!!
It is my plan that my blog will be updated on a regular basis for the foreseeable future- and that Superhouse will be posted roughly once a week until Gabe and I run out of scripts. Hopefully I can keep myself disciplined, since I’ve gotten my life in enough order so as not to get in the way anymore.
So time has gotten away from me, and my job has drained my energy – but not anymore! I downloaded an app (Brushes, for anyone who’s curious) for my iPod touch, that has a pretty good interface for drawing – which means that although I may be at work for 12 hours a day, I can still draw while I’m here (over lunch breaks and etc, not any time I should be not drawing) – so here’s a ‘lil robot.

Sorry about the lack of updates recently folks… I’ve gotten into full swing at a new job, which has been taking up most, and frequently all of my time, every day. I teach two classes in community media down at KETC now, which is awesome, except for the part where I work 12 hour days. I think I’m finally striking a balance here though, so look for another superhouse this week..

Remember the old public service announcements cartoons used to have to make, to justify themselves as children’s programming? Well, I for one miss those days – without them we would never have had such gems to look bak on.
Sorry for the late update (Still technically this week!). I’m going to be having a less hectic week next week, so not only will the third comic be on time, but I’ll work ahead so this doesn’t have to happen again. Again, if the comic is too small to read properly, you can follow the link to a full size version

This was just a little test thing, trying out a higher working resolution, a new way of drawing hair, and trying to accomplish a subtle glow effect. I don’t think the hair or the glow worked out well, but I’m happy with the resolution, so that’s going to be a part of my workflow from now on.
